Pricing
Products, offers, and add-on sales each have a price set per currency. Each currency has a regular price and an optional fixed discounted price.
Price Configuration
A price consists of one or more price configurations — one for each currency you sell in. Each currency has:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Currency | E.g. EUR or SEK. |
| Original Price | The regular price as a decimal number. Use a period as the decimal separator (e.g. 99.90). |
| Discounted Price | Optional. When set, the original price is shown with a strikethrough at checkout and the discounted price is what the customer pays. Use for campaign pricing or a permanent sale price. |
Currency selection for the customer happens automatically based on the checkout link and the customer's location. See: International Selling.
EU consumer protection law (the Omnibus Directive) restricts the use of discounted prices: the original price must be a genuine reference price, and a product must not be permanently on sale. Consult a lawyer or accountant if in doubt.
Where Prices Are Set
Prices are set in three different places:
- Product — default pricing, used when the offer does not specify its own price
- Offer — offer-specific price that overrides the product's default price
- Add-on Sale — add-on-specific price
All products in an offer and any attached add-on sales must have a price in every currency you sell in. If any product or add-on sale is missing a price for a currency, it will not be shown to customers purchasing in that currency.
